Debajyoti Chakrabarti
PhD student in Aerospace Engineering
I am a second-year Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) department at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
I am currently a graduate researcher at the UCLA PRACTICE Lab, advised by Professor Anushri Dixit. Before UCLA, I worked as a Guidance, Navigation, and Control scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), developing autonomy and control algorithms for various interplanetary and geostationary spacecraft missions, including Chandrayaan-3 Moon landing. At UCLA, my research focuses on safe and reliable autonomous systems spanning reinforcement learning, motion planning, optimal control, and multi-agent decision-making.
